The tail is the connection between the vehicle trailer harness and the trailer wiring- allowing the correct length required for each vehicle.
Socket comes with flat ribbon style wiring - to enable it to be kept inside the boot; until you are ready to tow.
Once in use; the flat tails hang out of the boot and are designed to operate while the boot is shut
