Shimano Impact NXT

Shimano Impact NXT

The Impact Nano series, which was introduced to Australian anglers last year, has been refined further for 2016, based around the use of Nano 36 Ton Toray graphite rod blanks, which is a refinement of the 24 Ton Toray graphite of previous models. Nano technology involves manipulating graphite on an atomic level, the end result of which is lighter, stronger and more durable blanks. Enhanced casting distance, a more in tune feel for what the lure is doing, increased fish fighting power, and a lightness in the hand that makes a huge difference when fishing all day are the main assets of using this up-spec’d material.

The cosmetics on the Impact NXT are somewhat different to their XT predecessors, but we also now have legendary Fuji aluminium oxide guides, Shimano custom reel seats, and custom shaped split EVA grips throughout the range. With rods for barra, freshwater natives, the salt, and spinning from the rocks, there are plenty of options for lure casters to choose from. Pick any one of the ten new rods up and you’ll quickly realise that ‘The Australian Rod Builder’ Ian Miller has done a remarkable job with their design.
