High visibility braids are not uncommon, and can be useful in many fishing scenarios, from jigging to precision casting. The new Power Pro Bite Motion is a high-vis braided line with a difference though.

A dazzling orange in colour, every metre there is a 13 centimetre black band. This makes Bite Motion especially useful when fishing Squidgies, as they often get bit when in free-fall, and it can be hard to detect these often-subtle bites before the fish ejects the lure. Instead, you focus on one of the black marks as a bite indicator, and if it moves so much as a whisker, strike!

The black marks can also be useful in setting up a tight trolling spread without tangles, or when targeting fish holding at a specific depth. Simply count the number of black marks to leave the spool and you’ll be fishing with increased accuracy.
