A new development in the world of micro jigging is the Shimano Coltsniper. These jigs, which come in five weights from 21 to 60 grams, are beautifully finished off — as Japanese lures traditionally are — with a choice of five colours and eye-catching holographic sheet worked into the finish.
They have a falling, fluttering, jerking action, and are rigged with a single chemically sharp assist hook on a Power Pro dropper. Given the wide variety of sizes and weights available, the target species is seemingly endless, with trevally, kingsfish, samson fish, bonito, tailor and mackerel being on the cards, but also demersals like snapper, pearl perch, dhufish, coral trout and nannygai.
