Berkley 3B Scum Dog Surface Walker 48mm 2.5g

Berkley 3B Scum Dog Surface Walker 48mm 2.5g
Berkley 3b crank Scum dog. This classic surface profiled lure is one that you might have seen before but I guarantee you will never have worked a lure like this before! The Berkley 3B Scum Dog is the easiest 'walk the dog lure' pure fishing team have ever used.... full stop!! Some of the popular lures in this category are every hard to get 'walking' - and if you change the action just a bit, you lose it and get no action at all. Not with the Scum Dog. This is the perfect bream, whiting, bass, estuary perch and trout sized surface lure. At 48mm (instead of the usual 65mm) the Scumy will appeal to everything that looks up. No question. So, whether you're trying to tempt a bream out of cover or mimicking a spasmodic prawn along a weed edge, the Scum Dog has your size, shape and color covered from all angles.

Walk the dog: Walk the dog style lures such as the 3B Scum Dogs by Berkley are the most popular style of surface lures on the market. The walk the dog style lure is slightly harder to use than the poppers but it is still quite easy to learn. Once the technique is mastered it becomes second nature and is what I believe to be the deadliest way to catch bream in the warmer months.

The idea of a walk the dog retrieve is to make your lure walk across the top of the water in a left to right swaying motion imitating a fleeing prawn or baitfish. This is implied by the angler doing a downward sweeping motion with the rod. As you sweep down, your lure will dip deeper into the water then pop up left or right. Once it pops up you twitch it again and this will make it dip down again walking to the opposite side. Continue this action while winding in the slack and this will produce your walk the dog technique and drive the fish crazy. A slower or faster technique may be required for different days, depending on how active the fish are feeding.
